This tab provides a functionality to compare Kentico CMS contacts with Data.com contacts. Before using this tab, the Data.com integration module has to be configured. More detailed information on how to configure the module can be found in Online Marketing Guide -> Integration of 3rd party modules -> Data.com.

 

Searching for contacts

 

Once you open the Data.com tab, a query is made on the Data.com server for information about the contact you chose to edit. The several possible results of such a query are described in the following text.

Search in the Data.com interface is always done using four attributes: First name, Last name, Company, E-mail.

 

 

A match is found for a contact you do not own

 

Attributes that are identical have their checkbox values turned off by default.

Attributes that are not identical or missing in the Kentico CMS contact - compared to the Data.com contact - have their checkbox values turned on by default. Once you press the Save (Save) button, these values will be reflected in the Kentico CMS contact.

The Business phone and E-mail attribute values are hidden unless you own the Data.com contact.

 

A match is found for a contact you do own

 

Once you own the contact listed in the Data.com database, the Business phone and E-mail attribute values become visible. You can now use these values to update your Kentico CMS contact using the Save (Save) button.

 

Too many matches are found

 

In such a case, pressing the Search (Search) button opens a dialog box in which you can see the attributes based on which the search was made, together with the results.

 

You can either revise the filtering criteria or pick from the contacts listed below. Once you have found the contact you were looking for, press the Select (Next) button. More specific information about the contact appear.

 

No match is found

 

In such a case, you can use the Search (Search) button to specify some of the attributes (if any of them were not filled in when the search was made). The attributes in the search dialog box are empty if no match was found.

 

Buying contacts

 

The Data.com integration module interface allows you to buy contacts directly from Data.com. This way you can access additional information - business phone and e-mail - about the contact you need.

 

Pressing the Buy this contact button on the Data.com contact tab opens a new dialog box.

 

In the dialog box you can Purchase points if you need any - this redirects you to the Data.com website, on which you can specify how many points you would like to purchase.

If you have enough points to purchase the contact directly, you can use the Buy button to complete the process.

Please note

 

For the Buy this contact option to be available, Data.com user name and login have to be configured in CMS Site Manager -> Settings -> Integration -> Data.com.
